Harold F. Gorman, Jr.

Harold F. Gorman, Jr., 91, resident of Milford, NH, died peacefully on December 14, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Taunton, MA on August 3, 1922, a son of Harold F. Gorman, Sr. and Cecelia (Cormier) Gorman. Mr. Gorman made his home in Milford for the past 27 years and formerly lived in Huntington, CT for many years. Prior to his retirement in 1986, he owned Gorman Electric Company. Mr. Gorman loved woodworking and spent much of his time restoring antique homes. He was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, Milford. Mr. Gorman was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran having served during World War II onboard the USS Durant and USS Massachusetts. Family members include his wife, Margaret A. (Johnson) Gorman of Milford; six daughters, Ann Louise Vailencourt of Canterbury, CT, O’Dell Margaret Merchant of Worcester, MA, Kathleen Dziemien of Monroe, CT, Elizabeth Keene of Waterbury, CT, Patricia Bridget Savo of Mont Vernon, NH and Jane Grand of Westport, CT; three sons, Michael Gorman of Richmond, ME, John Patrick Gorman of Canterbury, CT and Robert Francis Gorman of Milford, NH; 32 Grandchildren; and 20 Great-Grandchildren. Funeral services are private. Burial will be in Dean Cemetery, Canterbury, CT, in the spring.
