Guy Robert Martin

Guy Robert Martin, 75, of Amherst New Hampshire, passed away on December 12, 2023, of cardiac complications. He was born on May 29, 1948, in Lowell, Massachusetts and raised by his mother, Yvonne and step-father, Arthur Lessard.

Guy leaves behind a daughter, Jennifer Kotula, and two grandchildren, Jay and Cole. He also leaves brother-in-law James Mentzer and wife Lynne, sister-in-law Cathy Haslett and husband Walter, brother-in-law John Mentzer and wife Valerie, and sister-in-law Anita Scheipers and husband Paul. He is preceded in death by his loving second wife, Susan B. Martin, his mother, Yvonne and step-father, Arthur Lessard.

Guy attended area schools and graduated from Westford Academy in 1967. He then quickly worked his way into an enjoyable career in manufacturing shipping and receiving for well-known area firms such as Welch Allyn, Felton Brush, Munksjo Paper, Airmar, and SMX before retiring in 2011.

Besides enjoying life with Susan and their beloved cat, Emma, Guy had other keen interests. He was a collector of vintage automobiles, an enthusiastic reader, loved playing his drums, and relaxed by listening to vintage music from the 60s and 70s. He was a member of the Congregational Church of Amherst, and later, St. James United Methodist Church in Merrimack. He was a strong supporter of the NRA and enjoyed hunting as a young man. Before his wife’s death, Guy and Sue enjoyed traveling throughout New England; especially their favorite spots on Cape Cod to which they returned annually.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Guy Martin will be held on May 4th, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Old South Burying Grounds in Bolton, MA. 59 S Bolton Rd, Bolton, MA 01740.
