Grant T. “Butch” Demmons, Jr., 44, resident of Jaffrey, NH died on January 27, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Nashua, NH on October 30, 1969, a son of William R. and Carol (Blair) Batchelder of Wilton, NH. Butch was raised and educated in Wilton. He graduated from Wilton-Lyndeborough Co-op High School, Class of 1988 and attended the Nashua Vo-Tech for two years. Butch made his home in Jaffrey for more than 10 years and formerly lived in Wilton for most of his life. He had been employed as a mechanic for J & D Auto and K P Auto, Wilton. Butch enjoyed riding his motorcycle, NASCAR racing and watching sports on television. A loving husband, devoted father, son and brother, he most especially loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, family members include his wife with whom he would have celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary on August 26th, Andrea (Goulet) Demmons of Jaffrey; two sons, Troy Demmons and Trevor Demmons; a daughter, Isabella Demmons, all of Jaffrey; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and France Demmons of Lyndeborough, Scott and Amy Demmons of Bedford, NH, Randy and Naomi Demmons of Broken Arrow, OK; three sisters, Susan McKinnon of Folkston, GA, Pamela Greene of Surprise, AZ and Karen Batchelder of Milford, NH; many nieces and nephews. Memorial visiting hours are on Friday, January 31st from 5:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
