Glenice P. Smith

Glenice P. Smith, 89, lifelong resident of Milford, NH, passed on from this life on August 22, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Milford, NH on June 21, 1926, a daughter of Reino A. and Hilda (Rantilla) Paananen. She was raised and educated in Milford and attended the Boston Conservatory. Mrs. Smith had been a member of the First Congregational Church of Milford and the Amherst Garden Club. She was a Cub Scout Den Leader, sang in the church choir and at many Rainbow installations. Her family was the center of her life. She built a foundation of tradition, values and love for her family, whether it was tending to her garden, cooking or simply playing the piano. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by her infant son, Peter C. Smith, who died in 1951. Family members include her husband of 67 years, Philip O. Smith of Milford; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and George Boucher of Sugar Land, TX; three sons and daughters-in-law, Philip O. Smith, Jr. and Maureen Smith of Traverse City, MI, Mark and Jean Smith of Rindge, NH, Matthew and Susan Smith of Milford, NH; 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, whom she adored. Services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Milford.
