Glenda E. Townsend

Glenda E. Townsend, 77, lifelong resident of Milford, NH, died on December 18, 2012 at Crestwood Care and Rehabilitation Center in Milford, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Milford on May 22, 1935, a daughter of Raymond and Anna Marie (Sylvester) Aubertine. Glenda was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1953 and St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, Nashua, NH. She had been employed as a registered nurse for Dr. A.G. Law in Milford for 30 years. Glenda was an avid reader, enjoyed cross stitching and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the “Crazy 8” Women’s Barber Shop Quartet and the Women’s Souhegan Chorus. Glenda was a loving wife, a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Family members include her husband of 55 years, Earl L. Townsend of Milford; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael L. and Kathy Townsend, James K. Townsend, all of Milford; two grandchildren, Jessica Schooley and her husband, Justin of Milford, Jacob Townsend of Milford; two great grandchildren, Nikolas and Noah Schooley, both of Milford; and a very close friend for over 65 years, Lorna Willette of Milford. There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 22nd at 10:00 am in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Joseph Home & Hospice Care, 24 North River Road, Milford, NH 03055.
