Gervais E. Castonguay

Gervais E. “Gerry” Castonguay, 67, resident of Mont Vernon, NH, died August 21, 2012 at Saints Medical Center, Lowell, MA. He was born in Quebec, Canada on August 21, 1945, a son of Olivier Castonguay of Canada and the late Gabrielle (Miville) Castonguay. Gerry came to the United States as a teenager and for the past 35 years, has made his home in Mont Vernon, NH. In addition to his father, family members include a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Jonathan Scott of Hollis, NH; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Eric Castonguay of Santa Fe, NM, Jason and Stephanie Castonguay of Belvidere, VT and Kevin Castonguay of Mason, NH; three grandchildren; eight brothers and sisters all living in Canada with many nieces and nephews. He was a master electrician and owned and operated Castonguay Electric in Amherst, NH for more than 30 years. Gerry loved to travel, enjoyed dancing and going to the beach. He raised Bison for many years and exhibited them at state fairs. He will be missed by his family, friends and customers. He will be remembered as a generous, free-spirited, and light hearted person by all those who knew him. Memorial visiting hours are Saturday, August 25th from 2:00-5:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Burial will be in La Souvenance Cemetery, Quebec, Canada, at a later date.
