Gertrude E. Taylor

Gertrude E. “Trudy” Taylor, 93, resident of Milford, NH, died on April 7, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Switzerland on December 30, 1923, a daughter of Joseph Spaeth and Marcelle (Thurler) Spaeth. She was raised and educated in Switzerland and had lived in Turkey and London, England for several years before moving to the United States in 1951. Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker for most of her life and had also worked for the Bass Family in New Hampshire. In addition, she was a longtime member of the former First Baptist Church of Milford. A loving mother and devoted grandmother, she most especially treasured the time she spent with her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy A. Taylor. Gertrude is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Cheryl Taylor, and David Taylor, all of Milford; four grandchildren, Heather, Christopher, Matthew and Grace; a sister, Madeline Spaeth of Switzerland; a sister in-law, Hazel Corey of Brookline, NH; several nieces, grandnephews and many friends at the Mill. There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 15th at 10:00 a.m. in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford.
