Gerard “Jerry” Antonellis of Amherst, NH, formerly of Middleton, Belmont, and Newton, MA, died on December 15, 2021 surrounded by his wife and children. Jerry was born on June 13, 1944 to Dorothy and Biagio Antonellis. He is survived by his wife, Ellen, (Conley) Antonellis, of 50 years; his daughter Suzanne Johnson and her husband Tim of Bedford, NH; his son Gerard “Jay” Antonellis Jr. and his wife Lauren of Scotch Plains, NJ; his grandchildren, Hailey, Andrew, Amanda and Gabriella; his extended family full of siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as an abundance of friends and neighbors. We will all miss him more than words can say. Jerry was a lifelong carpenter, a member of Boston local 33, until his retirement in 2013. In his free time he loved to continue working with wood and enjoyed making bird houses, rocking horses, toy boxes, anything he set his mind to give as gifts, or for the simple joy of creating, especially for those he loved. Jerry loved going out to eat with his wife, multiple times each week, always meeting new friends wherever they went. He also loved to cook for others, and would sometimes take days creating a dish merely for others' enjoyment. Thanksgiving and Christmas day will never be the same without some of his family's favorite dishes that only he could seem to make. More than anyone, Jerry loved his wife. He was also immensely proud of his children and grandchildren’s accomplishments, ready to brag to anyone that was willing to listen. Jerry also loved his favorite dog, Sammy, who ate like a king and always had the rest of the family questioning: who was really the favorite? Jerry loved to tell stories. No one met Jerry and got away without hearing a story about either life working construction in Boston, his time in the Navy reserves, growing up at “The Lake” in Newton, endless stories about surviving the nuns at Catholic school, and stories that simply couldn’t be told by anyone else. If you knew Jerry, you knew these stories, many told while sharing a beer… ok, multiple beers. We will be raising our glasses in a toast to Jerry and celebrating his life at a later date. Donations in his memory can be made to The Animal Rescue League of NH, 545 NH-101, Bedford, NH 03110.
