George S. Markwell

It is with great sadness that George S. Markwell of Amherst, NH, has passed away on March 16, 2018. He was surrounded by his loving wife, children, granddaughters, and friends. This is just what he would have wished for, even though no one wanted to let him go. George was the glue to his family, the one who added life and sparkle to any occasion. He was loved by all, remembered as the guy everyone wanted to spend time with. George was a hard worker who owned his own business. He retired and spent his days with friends and family. He never missed a family party and would not only bring his fun personality, but also if we were lucky, a delicious pot of homemade meatballs and sauce. He loved Saturdays with his buddies, playing poker, having a cigar, and the occasional glass of expensive Scotch. His two granddaughters loved him more than anything, he was more than just their Papa, he was their best friend. We thank everyone for all the love and support, and the kindness shown to our Dad. We are forever changed by his presence and he will be missed more than he will ever know. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, March 23rd at 1:00 pm in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford.
