Frederick William "Bill" Lenz

F. William “Bill” Lenz, 79, resident of Milford, died suddenly on March 13, 2013 at the Milford Medical Center, Milford, NH. He was born in Wilton, NH on January 8, 1934, a son of Fred W. and Grace (Chandler) Lenz. He was raised and educated in Wilton and graduated from High Mowing School, Class of 1952 and New Hampshire College. Bill had been employed by Sanders Associates, Nashua, NH for more than 20 years where he had worked as a Senior Materials Manager. He enjoyed being outdoors, working in his yard, bird watching, was an aviation enthusiast and was an accomplished pianist. In addition, Bill and his wife loved to travel across the United States and to Europe, especially Italy and Sicily to visit family. Bill volunteered at the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport in Manchester since 1999, as a Granite State Ambassador. He was devoted to his faith and was an active communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, Milford, where he served as an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist, a member of the Parish Council and a volunteer for Share. He was a 3rd Degree member and had served as Faithful Navigator of the 4th Degree Milford Council Knights of Columbus #3035. Bill was a U.S. Army veteran and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri as a member of the Armed Forces Radio. He was a loving husband, a devoted father and grandfather. Bill was predeceased by two sisters, Betty Beebe and Dottie Hallett; two brothers, George Lenz and David Lenz. Family members include his wife of 51 years, Mary (Grasso) Lenz of Milford; a son and daughter-in-law, Erik and Laura Lenz of Lake Ridge, VA; a granddaughter, Rosemary Lenz of Lake Ridge, VA; a brother, Robert Lenz of Nashua, NH; two sisters, Jean Curran of Gilford, NH and Joan Erhard of Rochester, NH; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are on Sunday, March 17th from 1:00-3:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 am in St. Patrick Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford. Burial with military honors will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Milford.
