Frank Wells Hogg

Frank Wells Hogg, 89, of Stoddard, NH, died on April 14th, surrounded by his wife and his daughters. He was born December 4, 1922 in Pine Grove, West Virginia, the son of George William and Sena Ida Morgan Hogg. He joined the Navy as a young man and served as an officer for 22 years. He was a pilot in the Second World War and an electronics engineer. For his final tour of duty from 1960-1963 he was stationed with his family in Iwakuni, Japan. After retiring from the Navy he lived in Milford and worked 20 years for Sanders Associates in Nashua. He then moved to Stoddard where he lived the remainder of his life. A ham radio enthusiast and a lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed gardening, hiking, skiing, camping and fishing. After retirement he continued to travel extensively in the United States and probably saw every National Park and certainly every state. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Gwenneth Anderson Hogg; a sister, Frances Hogg McCoy of Hiawatha, Kansas; four children, Frank W. Hogg Jr. of Lyons, CO, Marsha Hogg Hoecker of Shirley, MA, Carolyn Hogg Roy of Lyndeborough, NH and Bobbie Hogg (Pryce) of Forked River, NJ; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. His family wishes to express their gratitude for the loving care given to Frank in his last three months by the staff at Langdon Place in Keene. A memorial service will be held on May 26th at 11:00 am in the Stoddard Congregational Church, 1549 Route 123 North, Stoddard, NH, followed by military honors. All are welcome to join the family for light refreshments at the Stoddard Town Hall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Association for the Blind, The Salvation Army, or the Stoddard Historical Society.
