Francis P. Mclaughlin

Francis P. McLaughlin, 79, resident of Amherst, NH died on August 24, 2016 at Mass General Hospital, Boston, MA. He was born in Boston, MA on September 29, 1936, a son of John P. and Mary E. (Amann) McLaughlin. He made his home in Amherst for the past 50 years. Mr. McLaughlin was an Electronics Engineer and had been employed by Sanders Associates for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing pool in his spare time. He also liked keeping in touch and reconnecting with his navy buddies via the computer. In addition, he was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, Milford. Mr. McLaughlin was a U.S. Navy veteran and was honorably discharged in 1963 with the rank of ATN1. He was predeceased by his wife, Diane M. (Kelley) McLaughlin, who died in 2014. Family members include two daughters, Beverly Smith Gaulin and her husband, Robert Gaulin of Amherst, NH, and Diane McLaughlin of Franklin, NH; three grandchildren, Sarah, Meghan and Helene; four great grandchildren, Olivia, Connor Patrick, Jaylin and Aylah; two sisters, Mary Devlin and Josephine Ward, both of Charlestown, MA. Calling hours are on Monday, August 29th from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford. Burial with military honors will follow in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Heald Funeral Home, Milford
