Floyd H. Lemere, 86, resident of Milford, NH, died November 10, 2009 at St. Joseph�s Hospital, Nashua, NH. He was born in St. Johnsbury, VT on December 28, 1922, a son of the late Carl & Blanche (Gibson) Lemere. Mr. Lemere was raised and educated in Newport, VT and resided in Milford for the past 27 years and Shirley, MA for many years. He had been employed as a truck driver for the Army Air Force Exchange Service, Fort Devens, MA and for the May & Hally Oil Company, Groton, MA. Mr. Lemere was a U.S. Army veteran having served in World War II in the 45th division in Africa and Italy, including the Anzio beachhead and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. In addition, he was a member of Harley Sanford Post #4368 VFW, Milford. He was predeceased by two brothers, Maynard Lemere and Rudy Lemere; three sisters, Winifred Carpenter, Irene Corkins and Kathleen Racine. Family members include his wife, Rachel P. (Morse) Lemere of Milford, NH; three daughters and a son-in-law, Linda & Lance Wright, Rhonda Boudreau and Lisa Lemere, all of Shirley, MA; a son, Floyd H. Lemere, Jr. of North Dakota; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A visiting hour will be held on Saturday, November 14th from 10:00-11:00 am in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Milford, with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Pillsbury Home, 95 High Street, Milford, NH 03055.
