F. David Wood

F. David Wood, 66, resident of Epsom, NH, died June 30, 2011 at Concord Hospital, Concord, NH, following an accident at his home. He was born in Franklin Township, PA on December 16, 1944, a son of Floren T. and Jennie (Tustin) Wood. David made his home in Epsom for the past 28 years and formerly lived in Lyndeborough, NH for 12 years. He had been employed as a chemical technician for W.R. Grace Company, Nashua, NH for more than 20 years. For a number of years, he owned and operated a drywall company and more recently had worked at Pembroke Academy. An avid outdoorsman, David enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, his animals and antiquing. He was a longtime fan of the Boston Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots. He was a loving husband, a devoted father and grandfather who truly enjoyed spending time with his family, attending all of his grandchildren’s sporting events and driving his 47’ Chevy Pickup “Sweet-P”, with his beloved dog, Sonny, at his side. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was honorably discharged in 1965. Family members include his wife of 43 years, Donna (Cassarino) Wood of Epsom, NH; a daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Brian Huckins of Boscawen, NH; two grandchildren, Quentin and Owen Huckins; a brother, William Wood of Greenville, SC; many nieces and nephews. Memorial visiting hours are Friday, July 8th from 5:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Concord-Merrimack County SPCA, 130 Washington Street, Penacook, NH 03303 or Autism Society of New Hampshire, P.O. Box 68, Concord, NH 03302.
