Evelyn F. Annis

Evelyn Frances (Hartshorn) Annis, 81, resident of Amherst, NH, died on January 19, 2009 at Harborside Healthcare Center-Crestwood, Milford, after a long and courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. She was born in Amherst, NH on October 13, 1927, a daughter of the late Levi J. and Emma (Ingerson) Hartshorn of Amherst, NH. Evelyn was a lifelong resident of Amherst and graduated from Milford High School, Class of 1946. She had been employed by Hitchiner Manufacturing Company, Milford for 13 years and New Hampshire Insurance Company, Manchester, for several years. Evelyn was a loving and caring sister, aunt, and a very dear and close friend to many. She will be remembered for her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. Evelyn loved children and was a special friend to not only her own nieces and nephews but to all the neighborhood children through the years. She loved to take them for rides around her property in her cherished yellow golf cart. An award winning artist, Evelyn loved to paint landscapes and supplemented her income through the years with her artwork and crafts. She was a member of the Keyes Art Group and the Milford United Methodist Church. In addition, she enjoyed gardening. Family members include her sister, Dorothy E. (Hartshorn) Trow of Mont Vernon, NH; nieces, nephews, grand nieces and her beloved dog, �Moe�, who has been adopted by her nephew, Tom. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Beacon Hospice and Harborside Crestwood with a special thank you to Evelyn�s wonderful nurse, Ali. There are no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 23rd at 1:00 pm in Meadowview Cemetery, Foundry Street, Amherst, NH.
