Evelyn Ann (Rericha) Clites, 71, longtime resident of Amherst, NH, died suddenly on October 4, 2009. She was born in Cleveland, OH on January 30, 1938, a daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Hasman) Rericha. She graduated valedictorian from John Adams High School in Cleveland in 1957. While attending Fenn College, she met and married Roy Jerome Clites in 1959. While raising her children, Scott and Susan, Evelyn completed her studies at Rivier College, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Business Administration. In addition to her administrative career, she volunteered as a teacher at Rivier College for the preschool program and assisted those in need through local charities. Throughout her life, she pursued her interest in the arts. As a child, she played duets with her sister, Laverne, on the family�s upright piano. She enjoyed classical music, hosting annual four-hand piano concerts with family friend, Al Trasatti. She was also a published poet and her work appeared in the Monadnock Reader. Evelyn was a benefactor to the Currier Art Gallery in Manchester, NH and the Amherst Public Library in Amherst, NH. She was a communicant of St. John Neumann Church, Merrimack, NH. Throughout her life, Evelyn was passionate about the arts, those in need, nature and animal rights. Being the mother of a loving family was her greatest achievement. Family members include her husband with whom she celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in January, Roy J. Clites of Amherst, NH; a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Lorraine Clites, their children, Tyler Roy and Jessica Rose Clites of Dunbarton, NH; a daughter, Susan Clites of Pine Lake, GA; a sister and brother-in-law, Laverne and Robert Stokowski of Parma, OH. Calling hours are Thursday, October 8th from 6:00-8:00 pm in the SMITH & HEALD FUNERAL HOME, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 9:30 am in St. John Neumann Church, 708 Milford Road, Merrimack, NH. Burial will follow in Meadowview Cemetery, Amherst, NH.
