Ethel L. Sykes

Ethel L. Sykes, 90, resident of Milford, passed to her rest on November 21, 2009 at Crestwood Care and Rehabilitation Center, Milford. She was born on March 24, 1919, the only child of Cecil and Helen (Morrison) Sykes of Connecticut. She lived in various places in CT, and then in later years lived in MA and NH, settling in Mont Vernon, NH. After her Father passed, Ethel and her Mother moved to Milford, NH and after her Mother passed, she moved into The Mill. Ethel loved the beach and spent much time there. At one time, she worked as a driver for the military and later as a driver for the Meals On Wheels Program for about 25 years. She was a very creative person and enjoyed painting, making huge braided rugs, wall hangings and carvings, some of which she sold and some she gave to friends. There are no surviving family members. She leaves behind many friends and even more acquaintances. There are no calling hours or services. Her ashes will be scattered at sea at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Meals On Wheels Program, c/o St. Joseph Community Services, Inc., 395 D.W. Highway, P.O. Box 910, Merrimack, NH 03054 or to a charity of one�s choice.
