Elouise Simpson Bell, 83, resident of Nashua, NH, died November 12, 2009 at her home. She was born in Traphill, NC on September 7, 1926, a daughter of the late Charlie & Lucy (Dowell) Simpson. Mrs. Bell resided in Nashua since 1992 and formerly lived in New York City for more than 45 years. Prior to her retirement in 1992, she had been employed as an administrator for the Social Security Administration. Mrs. Bell enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her four grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Dr. Andre Bell, who died in 2008, and by seven siblings, Eugene, Ollie, Edgar, Troy, Roy, Arthur and Leola Simpson. Family members include a daughter, Lavern Bell of Indiana; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Richards of Florence, MA; four grandchildren, Anthony Bell of New York City, Jenny, Craig and Susan Bell all of Florence, MA; a nephew, Dr. Eugene Simpson of Sicklerville, NJ; and cousins, Fred Dowell of New York City, Yolanda Pauling of Washington, DC and Darren Pauling of New Rochelle, NY. There are no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 21st at 10:30 am in Spring Grove Cemetery, North Maple Street, Florence, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Spence Chapin, African American Program, 410 East 92nd Street, New York, NY 10128, the Cooley Dickinson Hospital, 30 Locust Street, Northampton, MA 01061 or a charity of your choice.
