Elizabeth E. Sweet

Elizabeth E. Sweet, 85, resident of Mont Vernon, NH, died June 25, 2010 at her home. She was born in Westfield, VT, on August 12, 1924, a daughter of the late Delos and Ruby (Stannard) Besaw. Mrs. Sweet made her home in Mont Vernon, NH for the past 25 years and formerly lived in Littleton, NH, for most of her life. She loved animals, especially cats and she also enjoyed cooking, baking, puzzles and was known for her green thumb by the many plants she tended to in her home. Mrs. Sweet was predeceased by her husband, Harry Sweet; a son, Richard Sweet; a daughter, Nancy Bilodeau; a grandson, Jon Bilodeau; son-in-law, David D. Abbott; a brother, Roland “Stub” Besaw; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Vena & Neil Sweet, Racheal Besaw and Irene Besaw. Family members include her daughter, Elizabeth Abbott of Lyndeborough, NH; five grandchildren, Michael Abbott of Amherst, NH, Lisa (Abbott) Brogan of Milford, NH, Tammy (Bilodeau) Heath of Landaff, NH, Kevin Bilodeau of Berlin, NH and Lori (Bilodeau) Williams of Phoenix, AZ; six great grandchildren; a sister, Arlene DeFosse of Lancaster, NH; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Ronald & Cecelia Besaw of Lisbon, NH and Sylvia Besaw of Windsor, VT; many nieces and nephews; and a special family friend, Jean Fredette Hillsgrove. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 1st at 11:00 am in the Ross Funeral Home, 282 West Main Street, Littleton, NH. Burial will be in Overlook Cemetery, East Concord, VT.
