Elizabeth C. Austin

Elizabeth C. Austin, 96, lifelong resident of Brookline, died on August 17, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Brookline on October 21, 1916, a daughter of Alton and Elizabeth C. (Whitcomb) Jensen. Mrs. Austin was a homemaker who raised and cared for her four children. She loved her family deeply and found great joy in spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed the outdoors, sewing, braiding rugs, embroidering, crocheting and baking. She was predeceased by her husband, Ellsworth A. Austin. Family members include three sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Faith Austin of Storrs, CT, Ralph Austin of Buckfield, ME, Ellsworth and Pam Austin of Brookline; a daughter, Carol Mattson of Brookline; 10 Grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren; a sister, Charlotte Farwell and a brother, Ross Jensen, both of Brookline; many nieces and nephews. There are no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 22nd at 11:00 am in Lakeside Cemetery, Mason Road, Brookline, followed by a Celebration of Her Life at the Brookline Auction Gallery, 32 Proctor Hill Road (Route 130), Brookline.
