Eleanor R. Dix-Greer

Eleanor R. Dix-Greer, 96, resident of Milford, NH, died March 7, 2009 at The Elms Nursing Home in Milford. She was born in Springfield, VT on May 6, 1912, a daughter of the late Ernest A. & Sarah (Putnam) Dix. Eleanor resided in Milford for more than 20 years and formerly lived in Wilton, NH for many years. She earned her Associates Degree from Keene State College and for over 20 years, she taught art at the Wilton-Lyndeborough Cooperative High School and the Wilton Elementary School. She retired from teaching in 1989, at the age of 77, and had received the honor of Teacher of the Year. She was predeceased by a great niece, Tammy Racine. Family members include her daughter, Beverly M. Farnsworth of AZ; two granddaughters, Patricia Farnsworth of AZ and Darlene Farnsworth of Manchester, NH; two great grandchildren, Kami M. Farnsworth Powell and her husband, Jody of AZ and Scott H. Farnsworth of Fort Lewis, WA; two great-great grandchildren, Savannah Lee Powell and Vaughn Ovitz Powell; a niece, Marcia Watson Racine of Winchester, NH; two great nieces, Terry Racine and Traci Racine; several great-great nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are Saturday, March 14th from 1:00-3:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery, Brattleboro, VT at a later date.
