Elaine V. Heaney

Elaine V. Heaney, 89, resident of Peterborough, NH died on September 20, 2016 at the Pheasant Wood Center in Peterborough. She was born in Salem, MA on July 23, 1927, a daughter of Arthur A. and Inez (Colwell) Proctor. Elaine resided in Peterborough for several years and formerly made her home in Newport, VT, Mont Vernon, NH, Rowley, MA and Glendale, CA. She was a former resident of Ojai, CA. While living in California, she had worked as an LPN at Ventura Community Memorial Hospital. She attended the Academy Awards with her daughter. Elaine was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to music, talking politics and going antiquing. She most especially loved being a mother and spending time with her family. She was predeceased by three children, Julianne Heaney, Joseph P. Heaney, Jr. and Janet Heaney; and her former husband, Joseph P. Heaney, Sr. Family members include two sons, Sean Heaney of Newport, VT and Jeb A. Heaney of Mont Vernon, NH; two daughters, Jocelyn Heaney of Los Angeles, CA and Joellen Heaney of Pleasant Hill, CA. There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held on October 8th at 10:00 a.m. in the Mont Vernon Congregational Church, 4 South Main Street, Mont Vernon, NH. Burial will be private in Green Lawn Cemetery, Mont Vernon.
