Edward T Briske of Mont Vernon, N.H died on February 5th, 2015 in Manchester, N.H. He was born in Mineola, N.Y., May 22, 1928, to Stanley Briske (Bialobriziski) and Camilla (Dobkowski). In 1945, at the age of 17, he enlisted in the Navy. At the conclusion of the war, he was discharged, on reserve status and came home. In the ensuing years he became an automobile repairman and auto painter. Edward joined the Albertson N.Y. Volunteer Fire Department, actively participating on-call at a moment’s notice. He was also part of the Albertson "Slo-Pokes" Drill Team competitions. In 1951 he was notified that his reserve status was had been activated during the Korean Conflict. After his second discharge the couple settled in Brentwood, N.Y. In 1965 Edward found employment with Travelers Ins. Co. as an Auto Damage Appraiser where he spent 28 years attaining the title of Supervisor. During that time Edward and Judith purchased a house scheduled for demolition in Nashua, N.H. and moved it to Mont Vernon, N.H. restoring and renovating it. After his retirement he established his own Auto Appraisal Service, which provided much enjoyment and satisfaction. He also spent many hours helping his son Jess with his machining business. His favorite hobby was tending to his garden and landscape. He could always be counted on and it had been said..."Eddie Briske can fix anything". He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Judith Power-Briske, three children, Diane Aronsen, her spouse Michael; Sheila Cushing: Jess Briske, his spouse Sheryl (Catanzano). Four grandchildren: Joanna Quigley, her spouse Ross; Stephen Aronsen, his spouse Katie (Mahoney); Eric Aronsen; and Corbin Briske. He also leaves a great-granddaughter, Bryn Quigley, who provided him with utmost joy. He is also survived by his brother Chester and family who reside in Fl. Calling hours are on Wednesday, February 11th from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford, NH. Burial will be in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donations be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital or Shriner’s Hospital.
