Edward P. Aiken, 80, resident of Bedford, NH, died on March 8, 2015 at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Arlington, MA on April 10, 1934, a son of Judson and Helen (Reagan) Aiken. Edward was raised and educated in Arlington, MA and graduated from Arlington High School. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Boston College in 1957. Edward made his home in Bedford, NH for more than 35 years. He was a National Sales Director for Primerica Financial Services for 30 years. Edward was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed all the Boston teams. He most especially loved spending time with his granddaughter, Madelyn. Edward served in the U.S. Army and later transferred to the Massachusetts Army National Guard. He was predeceased by a brother, Paul Aiken. Family members include his wife with whom he would have celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary on April 23rd, Jacqueline (Quinn) Aiken of Bedford, NH; three sons and a daughter-in-law, James E. and Shannon Aiken of Manchester, NH, Edward W. Aiken of Bethel, ME and Todd Q. Aiken of Bedford, NH; a granddaughter, Madelyn Aiken; two brothers, John Aiken and partner Susan Hutchinson of Billerica, MA and Donald Aiken of Arlington, MA; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Frederick O’Connor of Woburn, MA, Eleanor and Carl Jonasson of St. Petersburg, FL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Mary Ellen Quinn, James and Carolyn Quinn, all of Amherst, NH, Eleanor and Edward Feeley of Naples, FL, Maureen and Robert Gilmartin of Houston, TX; many nieces and nephews. Calling hours are on Thursday, March 12th from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 am in Saint Eulalia Parish, 50 Ridge Street, Winchester, MA. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington, MA. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Edward P. Aiken to support cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
