Edward J. Phillips, Jr., 60, resident of Greenfield, NH, died September 1, 2009 at Monadnock Community Hospital, Peterborough, NH. He was born in Milford, NH on August 11, 1949, a son of the late Edward J. Phillips, Sr. and Catherine E. (McPolin) Phillips. A resident of Greenfield for the past 10 years, Mr. Phillips was raised and educated in Milford and graduated from Milford High School, Class of 1967. He had been employed by Permattach Corporation and Hy-Ten Plastics in Milford for many years. Mr. Phillips was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, boating, going to flea markets and collecting Zippo�s. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served with the 25th Infantry Division in Vietnam. He was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Phillips Delage. Family members include a brother and sister-in-law, Ralph & Marlina Phillips of Manchester, NH; a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia & Stanley Francis of VT; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; dear friends, Todd & Kathy Mason of Lyndeborough, NH and Dennis Maki of Wilton, NH. There are no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 3rd at 1:00 pm in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Abbott Hill Road, Wilton. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2 Commerce Drive, Suite #110, Bedford, NH 03110.
