Edward J. Nolan, 97, former resident of Milford and Nashua, died January 22, 2020 at the Southeast Rehabilitation Center, Easton, MA. He was born in South Boston, MA on January 20, 1923, a son of John J. and Ester L. (Ashport) Nolan. Edward had been employed by Ingersoll Rand for twelve years and also worked at Honeywell Corporation for many years. He was a US Army Air Corp veteran of World War II and was honorably discharged in January 1946. He was a member of the Nashua Elks, the Disabled American veterans, AARP, Nashua Senior Center; in addition he was a member of the American Legion Riccardi-Hartshorn Post #23 in Milford. Edward spent many years volunteering especially for wounded veterans. He received an award from the State of New Hampshire, Division of Elderly and Adult Services in 1990, for his community service. He was also an avid quilter. He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia (Ramsey) Nolan. Edward is survived by two sisters, Katherine Brackett of Wisconsin and Lillian McKenna of Quincy, MA; several nieces and nephews.
