Edward F. Hutchinson

Edward F. Hutchinson, 81, resident of Mont Vernon, NH, died December 2, 2009 at Crestwood Care & Rehabilitation Center, Milford, NH. He was born in Concord, NH on August 16, 1928, a son of the late Philip and Gladys (Muzzey) Hutchinson. Mr. Hutchinson graduated from Concord High School, Class of 1946, where he had served as Vice President of his class and was a member of the track team. He earned his Bachelor�s Degree from the University of New Hampshire. He resided in Mont Vernon for the past 15 years and formerly lived in Milford for more than 20 years. Mr. Hutchinson had been employed by the federal government as a soil conservationist for more than 30 years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed skiing, skating on local ponds and lakes, splitting wood and playing tennis. He was a member of the Wilton Center Tennis Club and for a number of years he ran the Mt. Prospect Ski Area in Lancaster, NH and was also a member of the ski patrol. Mr. Hutchinson was instrumental in redesigning and building the soccer field at Milford High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Hutchinson was predeceased by a brother, William Hutchinson. Family members include his wife with whom he would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on December 22nd, Ann (James) Hutchinson of Mont Vernon, NH; a son, Todd G. Hutchinson of Gloucester, MA; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa H. & Thomas Conrad of Orleans, MA, Jill H. & Gregory Howard of Basking-Ridge, NJ, Carol H. & John Piemontese of Brewster, MA; four grandchildren, Ashley, Brett, Jack and Kitt; two sisters, Marion Crosby of Dunbarton, NH and Beverly Fairbanks of Concord, NH; several nieces and nephews. Memorial visiting hours are Monday, December 7th from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am in the First Congregational Church of Milford, UCC, 10 Union Street, Milford, NH. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mont Vernon, NH with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Mt.
