Edward D. Bonner, 76, resident of Milford, NH, died on November 22, 2012 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation-Greenbriar in Nashua, NH. He was born in New London, NH on October 22, 1936, a son of Ralph W. and Clara (Merrill) Bonner. He was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1956 and was a member of the basketball team. In 1957, he married his high school sweetheart, Sheila (Cassidy) Bonner and they shared 55 years of marriage. Ed was employed at Edgcomb Steel (Macsteel) Corp. for 32 years before retirement. He was also employed with security at Digital Equipment. Ed was a 17 year veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve, 75th (Onaway) Infantry Division. He loved the outdoors, especially snowmobiling and camping in the White Mountains and Maine and also traveling to many of the other states with his family and grandchildren. He shared an interest in U.S. History with his son and was an avid life-long fan of the Boston Celtics. He also followed the Philadelphia Eagles with his grandchildren. Above all, he was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Ralph and Clarence Bonner. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sheila of Milford, NH; a daughter, Marcia (Bonner) Giarratana of Yardley, PA; a son, Michael Bonner of Milford; grandchildren, Laura, Molly and Patrick Giarratana of Yardley, PA; two sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) Puchacz of Manchester, NH; Grace Bonner of Nashua, NH; a sister-in-law, Else Bonner of FL; many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are Monday, November 26th from 5:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Funeral services are private. Burial will be private in Riverside Cemetery, Milford. Ed loved animals and enjoyed the company of many pets through the years.
