Dorothy Franks

Dorothy D. Franks, 88, resident of Milford, NH, died March 3, 2008 at Harborside Healthcare Center in Milford.�She was born in Lawrence, MA on December 1, 1919, a daughter of the late David & Esther (Shack) Davis.�She attended Boston University.�Mrs. Franks moved to Milford in 2006, to be closer to her son and daughter-in-law and formerly resided in Chevy Chase, MD for many years.�She was a homemaker for many years and later in her life had worked as a travel agent.�Mrs. Franks enjoyed the company of others and always welcomed family and friends into her home whether it was an afternoon gathering or an extended visit, her gracious hospitality will always be remembered.�She was a member of Temple Sinai, Washington, DC.�She was predeceased by her husband, Maurice Franks, who died in 1996 and a sister, Thelma Simon.�Family members include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Paul & Betsy (Grasso) Franks of Milford, NH, David Franks of Baltimore, MD; four sisters, Sandra Rubin of San Diego, CA, Marlene Gordon of Gilford, NH, Lynne Teicher of Boca Raton, FL, Michelle Katz of Burlington, MA; several nieces and nephews.�A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 4th at 10:30 am�� in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford.� Rabbi Louis Reiser will officiate. Burial and interment prayers will be in Temple Emanuel Cemetery, Lawrence, MA.� Donations in her memory may be made to the charity of ones choice.� Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, is handling arrangements
