Dorothy B. Atwood Roberts

Dorothy B. Atwood Roberts, 85, lifelong resident of Wilton, NH, died July 24, 2009 in Solon, Ohio. She was born in Wilton, NH on November 3, 1923, a daughter of the late Ewart and Aurore (Martin) Broome. She was raised and educated in Wilton and graduated from Wilton High School. For more than 24 years, she had been employed as an assistant director of the lunch program at the Wilton-Lyndeborough Cooperative School. She enjoyed cooking, outdoor activities, snowmobiling and traveling. Mrs. Roberts was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Wilton. She was predeceased by her first husband, Arthur C. Atwood, who died in 1998. Family members include her husband, John J. Roberts of TN; a daughter and son-in-law, Marcia A. & Kenneth Kangas of Cleveland, OH; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary A. & Pamela Atwood of Wilton, NH; three granddaughters, Sarah Kangas, Laura Kangas and Jodi Atwood; a grandson, James Atwood; a sister, Shirley VanderHeyden of Wilton, NH; several nieces and nephews. There are no visiting hours. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 31st at 11:30 am in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Wilton.
