Dorothea Jumis

Dorothea (Misodoulakis) Jumis, 87, resident of Milford, NH, died February 19, 2010 at Crestwood Healthcare Center, Milford. She was born in Pawtucket, RI on July 10, 1922, a daughter of the late John G. & Mary (Ambrosiades) Misodoulakis. Mrs. Jumis was raised and educated in Paterson, NJ, where she made her home for many years. More recently, she had been a resident of Milford for the past five years. For many years, she was employed as a secretary at several banks in Athens, Greece and New York City. Following her retirement, she moved back to Greece, where she resided for seventeen years. Mrs. Jumis traveled extensively throughout Europe, visiting almost every country. In addition, she also enjoyed traveling throughout much of the United States. She loved music, shopping, all types of social gatherings, and was known for her warm, friendly manner and outgoing personality. She was a devoted wife, a loving sister and aunt. She was predeceased by her husband, Jon Jumis. Family members include a brother and sister-in-law, George & Dolores Misodoulakis of Milford, NH; a sister, Stamatia Russell of Mont Vernon, NH; two goddaughters, Barbara Moriarty and Diana Carlin; several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are Monday, February 22nd from 4:00-6:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 pm in St. Philip Greek Orthodox Church, 500 West Hollis Street, Nashua, NH. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Milford.
