Doris M. Mcdonald

Doris M. McDonald, 73, died peacefully on July 23, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, Pawtucket, RI. She was born on April 11, 1937, the daughter of the late Daniel and Irene Leedham. She was raised and educated in Pawtucket, RI. She resided in Pawtucket, RI for the past 3 years and formerly made her home in Milford for 47 years, where she raised her five children. A homemaker for most of her life, Doris enjoyed volunteering as a room mother, a Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Leader and at the Milford Nursing Home. She provided child care in her home for many years and had also worked at the former Hayward Farms Restaurant. She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, Milford and enjoyed caring for children in the nursery. She was predeceased by her daughter, Kelly Ann McDonald-Ost. Family members include a daughter and son-in-law, Shawn & Michael Quinn of Milford; three sons and daughters-in-law, John & Mary McDonald of Cumberland, ME, Scott & Valerie McDonald of Bedford, NH, Justin & Carole McDonald, of Boscawen, NH; 14 grandchildren; three sisters, Irene Boisse, Frances DiMuccio and Lucille Vincent; and a brother Daniel Leedham; and her former husband, John McDonald. There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 28th at 10:00 am in St. Aidan’s Church, Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland, RI. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 30th at 10:00 am in Riverside Cemetery, Nashua Street, Milford, NH.
