Doris Ferguson, 99, resident of Milford, died on March 14, 2014 at Crestwood Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Milford. She was born in South Barre, MA on September 22, 1914, a daughter of Edward and Agnes (Jones) Wildman. Her parents came from England in 1912 and had wanted to book passage on the Titanic, but were unable to because there were no rooms available. She made her home in Milford since 1935. Mrs. Ferguson worked alongside her husband on the family farm located on North River Road in Milford. She also spent several years employed by Kenmore Stamp Company. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, and enjoyed gardening, raising and nursing animals and especially loved her poodles. She was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. Mrs. Ferguson was predeceased by her husband, John R. Ferguson, Sr., three brothers and a twin sister, Delia, a granddaughter, Christine Tanguay, a great grandson, Owen Hussey and her son, John R. Ferguson, who died February 11, 2014. Family members include three daughters, Virginia Gentes of Wilton, NH, Susan Bell and Faye Tanguay, both of Milford; a daughter-in-law, Linda Ferguson of Milford; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. There are no visiting hours. Funeral services are private. Burial will be in North Yard Cemetery, Milford, in the spring.
