Doris Aline (Girouard) (Dargie) Batey, 86, lovingly known as Dot and Memere, died peacefully Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Crestwood Center in Milford, NH after a long period of declining health. She was the wife of the late David C. Batey. She was born in Manville, RI on December 15, 1928, a daughter of the late Dorius and Laura (Fleuette) Girouard. She graduated from high school in Manville, RI. She lived in Andover, MA, Londonderry, NH, and Milford, NH. She worked as a clerk for the IRS for many years. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, traveling throughout the United States, visiting with family and friends, cribbage, crosswords, and attending WWII Air Force reunions with her late husband David Batey. Family members include two daughters, Michelle Freck and her husband Bob of Houston, TX, Denise Dargie and her partner Danny Hutchins of Derry, NH; two sons, Paul Dargie and his wife Joan of Milford, NH, David Dargie and his partner Lisa Hernandez of Andover, MA; stepdaughter, Nancy McCarthy of Needham, MA; stepson, David Batey of Delafield, WI; seven grandchildren, Andrew Ferguson, Patrick Ferguson, Jenna Dargie, Jillian Dargie, Michael Dargie, Aline Dargie, and Stephen Dargie; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Raymond Girouard, Jeanne Dube, Yvette Salemi, and Pauline Bell. She is fondly remembered by Philip Dargie and his wife Jean Apostolakes. Memorial visiting hours will be held on Saturday, August 29th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH 03055, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 pm.
