Donald M. Lockwood

Donald M. Lockwood, DMD, 64, resident of Amherst, NH, died unexpectedly on December 20, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Nashua, NH. He was born in New Brunswick, NJ on August 8, 1947, a son of the late James W. Lockwood and Ida M. (Allen) Lockwood. Dr. Lockwood graduated from Rutgers University and Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Lockwood resided in Amherst since 1977 and formerly lived in South Dakota for three years and New Jersey for many years prior. For over 20 years, he owned a dental practice in Hollis, NH and Nashua, NH, and he was a dental health officer for the Public Health Service on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota for three years. He loved computers, remodeling projects and especially spending time in the Adirondacks. In addition, he had been active in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts with his sons. Family members include his wife, with whom he would have celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary on December 27th, Phyllis A. (Brown) Lockwood of Amherst; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Mark W. and Miki Lockwood of Milford and Timothy C. Lockwood of Nashua, NH; three brothers and sisters-in-law, James W. and Phyllis Lockwood of East Brunswick, NJ, Robert A. and Mikky Lockwood of Monroe Township, NJ, Dr. Thomas D. Lockwood of Centerville, OH; many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are Tuesday, December 27th from 10:00 am �" 12:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon. Burial will be in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local council of Boy Scouts of America.
