Donald L. “Donaldo” Shore, 76, resident of Amherst, NH, died May 26, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Nashua, NH. He was born in Brockton, MA on July 29, 1933, a son of the late Herbert and Helen (Marston) Shore. Mr. Shore resided in Amherst for the past 25 years and formerly lived in West Haven, CT for many years. He had been employed for Norden Systems, Norwalk, CT and retired in 1995 as a contract manager. Mr. Shore was former president of West Haven Little League, original board member of the West Haven Youth Hockey and a member of the West Haven Jaycees. Following his retirement, he volunteered for SCORE and the Share Program in Milford, NH. His favorite times were spent with family and friends telling stories and jokes. He enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, tennis and sailing. He loved life, traveling with his wife, Sandy. He will be sorely missed by many and is gone much too soon. Mr. Shore was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and served on the front lines in Korea. He was predeceased by his daughter, Stephanie Dawn Shore and a stepson, Gregory Campbell. Family members include his wife, Sandra (Fontanella) Shore of Amherst, NH; two sons and daughter-in-law, Michael Shore and Joann Wilson of San Francisco, CA, David and Roseann Shore of West Haven, CT; a stepson, Thomas Campbell of TX; three grandchildren, David, Christopher and Brian; a sister, Mary Shore of Ruckersville, VA; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Shore of Southington, CT and Patricia Delgreggo of Meriden, CT; two brothers-in-law, Gene Fontanella of Wallingford, CT and David Webster of Westville, CT; several nieces and nephews. Memorial visiting hours will be held on Sunday, May 30th from 5:00-7:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans-NH, 19B River Road, Newington, NH 03820.
