Donald F. Hayes

Donald F. Hayes, 91, longtime resident of Milford, NH died on March 15, 2017 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, Nashua, NH. He was born in Gorham, NH on May 17, 1925, one of fifteen children to Raymond and Catherine (Murphy) Hayes. Donald was raised and educated in Gorham and graduated from Gorham High School. He has made his home in Milford for the past 30 years and formerly lived in Merrimack, NH for many years. While living in Merrimack, he was a co-founder of the Merrimack Volunteer Ambulance Service. Donald was employed as an x-ray technician at Memorial Hospital/Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua for 40 years. He enjoyed reading, woodworking and most especially, he loved spending time with his family. Family members include his wife of 56 years, Joanne (Calvetti) Hayes of Milford; three children, Patty and Marc Lacasse of Greenfield, NH, Robert and Stacy Hayes of Bedford, NH, Susan and Brian Farrell of Peach Tree City, GA; ten grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Memorial visiting hours are on Monday, March 20th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH.
