Donald C. Gunter

Donald Calvin Gunter, age 78, of Mont Vernon New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at Brigham and Women’s Hospital on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, surrounded by his loving family and friends following a sudden illness. Don was born on November 24th, 1938 in Paterson, New Jersey and spent his years growing up in Booton, New Jersey. He graduated from Booton High School. After graduating high school, he entered the armed forces and served his country. He spent the majority of his life working as a sales engineer in both New Jersey and New Hampshire. He was a resident of Mont Vernon for 44 years. Don was a strong, selfless and loving man who lived his life with compassion and generosity. His life revolved around his friends and family, who he loved unconditionally. He was the most selfless person to anyone who knew him and forever gave of himself to anyone who crossed his path. He devoted his life to his family and his work. His work ethic was one that all others were always amazed by. He spent his life working as a sales engineer and his friends and family always enjoyed his creativity in fixing things, abstract stories of life and countless lessons all learned from him. He was predeceased by his mother Grace Barton and father Cecil Joseph Gunter. He has one brother, Robert Gunter of Chicago. He will forever be loved and cherished by his wife and best friend of 59 years, Patricia Gunter. His beautiful life will be forever treasured in the lives of his children, Laurie Gunter Mantz of Cranston, RI, Donna Lowry and son-in-law Doug of Evans, Georgia, Daniel Gunter and daughter-in-law Donna of Amherst, NH, James Gunter and daughter-in-law Kathleen of Dover, NH and Beth Dunham Gibney and son-in-law Joshua of Milford, NH; 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and several nephews.
