Dennis W. Matchett

LOVING HUSBAND, FATHER and PAPA Dennis W. Matchett, 66, resident of Amherst, NH, died June 26, 2012 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, Nashua, NH, surrounded by his family. He was born in Oakland, CA on June 23, 1946, a son of Benjamin and Imogene (Allen) Matchett. Dennis lived in Amherst since 1988 and formerly had resided in San Jose and Modesto, CA for most of his life. He owned and operated Matchett Painting and Papering Company, Amherst, NH. Dennis enjoyed antique cars and in his earlier years, he had a passion for building and racing cars. Family members include his wife of 41 years, Judith A. (LaPointe) Matchett of Amherst; two daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Doug Bianchi, Patricia and Scott Christopher, all of Milford; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Scott and Kate Matchett of North Port, FL, Michael Matchett of Amherst, NH, James Matchett of Berlin, NH; and eight grandchildren, Chelsea, Anthony, Abigail, Nicholas, Charles, Alexander, Rachel and Elizabeth. All of whom he loved and enjoyed very much. Memorial visiting hours are Tuesday, July 3rd from 3:00-5:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, followed by a celebration of his life from 5:00-800 pm at the Harley Sanford Post #4368, 1 VFW Way, Milford.
