Dennis L. Adams

Dennis L. Adams, 69, lifelong resident of Milford, died on February 21, 2016 at the Concord Regional VNA Hospice House, Concord, NH. He was born in Nashua, NH on March 6, 1946, a son of Albert H. and Hazel (Morgan) Adams. Dennis loved taking trips to the ocean and the mountains and photographing wildlife, especially moose. He also enjoyed hiking, camping and snow shoeing. He was very active in Scouting as a child and later was an assistant Cub Scout den leader. Prior to his retirement in 2014, he had been employed by Contemporary Chrysler in Milford for 24 years. Dennis was a member of the First Congregational Church of Milford, UCC and Harley Sanford Post #4368, VFW, Milford. In addition, he was a 20 year member of the Milford Volunteer Fire Department and retired as Captain of Engine 2. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1971 with the rank of Sergeant. He earned numerous medals and badges and was awarded the Bronze Star. Family members include his wife, Deborah V. (Jenkins) Adams of Milford; a son, Scott Adams of Nashua, NH; two grandchildren, Caden Adams and Gavin Adams; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold “Pip” and Cecile Adams of Manchester, NH, Herbert and Nathalie Adams of Milford, Paul and Evelyn Adams of Coventry, VT; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Ben Creelman of Port Charlotte, FL; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna and Jim Patterson of Wilton, NH; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial visiting hours will be held on March 12th from 12:30-2:00 pm in the Burns Hill Christian Fellowship (same location as Guerney Automotive), 419 Elm Street, Milford, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Burial with military honors will be in Green Lawn Cemetery, Mont Vernon, in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Milford Firemen’s Relief Association, 39 School Street, Milford, NH 03055.
