Deana Beatrice O’Connell, 97, resident of Milford, NH died July 24, 2010, at her home. She was born in Stacyville, Maine on March 12, 1913, a daughter of the late Ernest and Arilla (Whitehead) Willett. Mrs. O’Connell graduated from Belchertown High School, Belchertown, MA, Class of 1931. Later in her life, she attended Bullard Havens Technical School in Bridgeport, CT, where she was head of her class in the LPN nursing program. She worked for many years at the Bridgeport Hospital prior to moving to Milford in 1975. While residing in Milford, she was active in the Harley Sanford Post #4368, VFW Auxiliary and the Ricciardi Hartshorn Post #23, American Legion Auxiliary. In addition, she also volunteered with Helping Hands, sponsored by the Milford United Methodist Church. For many years, until her early 90’s, she took great pride in creating Butternut Farm’s mixed floral bouquets sold at the Milford and Manchester Farmers’ Markets. Her two grandchildren and three great grandchildren were also one of the great joys of her life. She was predeceased by husbands, Aleck Langille and Timothy M. O’Connell. Family members include her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Noreen O’Connell of Milford; two grandchildren, Marcy O’Connell of Milford, NH, Jeannine Wegmueller and her husband, Hagen of Temple, NH; three great grandchildren, Katherine, Thomas and Finn; a sister, Ardell Marona; and sister-in-law Louise Willet both of Brookfield, MA; several nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 2nd at 11:00 am in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Ware, MA.
