David S. Hill, long time resident of Lyndeborough, NH, passed away on March 18, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Nashua, NH surrounded by family just shy of his 76th birthday. He was born in Nashua, NH on April 21, 1942, the son of Stafford S. and Edna F. (Lyon) Hill. He was raised in Hollis on a beautiful farm which he loved to share stories about. He was adventurous in his youth, loved working with his father and was an active part of the community helping friends and neighbors in town which he was very proud of. He had been employed as a computer programmer/analyst for New Hampshire Insurance Company in Manchester, NH for many years. He also worked as an independent contractor in the field traveling extensively, which he loved. Just ask and he’d tell you where to get the best pizza in Chicago or some funny story about his adventures! In his spare time, he operated a Stihl Chainsaw business from his home & for a time he also worked as an electrician. He was a life time member of the member of the Pinnacle Mountain Fish & Game Club in Lyndeborough. He enjoyed volunteering at the club, target shooting, participating in the kids fishing derby, hunting or fishing with friends, skiing in his youth and spending time with family. He also participated in the men’s hockey league in Milford for a time. He served on the Lyndeborough Budget Committee and volunteered for the Police Department when he first moved to town. Family members include his wife of 54 years, Carol A. (Tetlow) Hill of Lyndeborough; three daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne and Alex Perez of Merrimack, NH, Cathy and Brian Sewasky of Wilton, NH, Amy and Jim Delia of Gilford, NH; a son and daughter-in-law Robert and Katie Hill of Merrimack, NH; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, March 24th from 11:30-1:00 at Smith and Heald in Milford, followed by a service at 1:30 in the Milford United Methodist Church, 327 North River Road, Milford, NH. A reception to follow. Burial will be in East Cemetery, Hollis, at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you please make a donation to either the the Wilton- Lyndeborough Ambulance service (donations can be mailed to the Attention of Dave Gill 404 Forest Rd, Wilton NH 03086), who helped Mr. Hill on many occasions, or the NH Fish and Game Department (http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/funding/donate.html) in Mr. Hills name.
