David J. Dawson

David J. Dawson, 87, resident of Amherst, NH, died March 8, 2009 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, Nashua, NH. He was born in Cambridge, MA on June 21, 1921, a son of the late James & Catherine (Foley) Dawson. Mr. Dawson was raised and educated in Cambridge, MA and was a graduate of Burdett College and Boston College. He resided in Amherst for the past 11 years and formerly lived in Hollis, NH and Arlington, MA. Mr. Dawson was an accountant and had worked in administration at Boston Edison for more than 30 years. He enjoyed gardening, photography, golfing and woodworking. Mr. Dawson was a communicant of St. Patrick�s Church, Milford. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during World War II. Family members include his wife, Audrey (Aham) Dawson of Amherst, NH; two daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia Dawson of York Beach, ME, Deborah & Michael Moran of Hollis, NH; two grandchildren, Ashleigh and Taylor Moran; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul & Rita Dawson of Bourne, MA; a sister, Jane McKearin of Dover, NH; 8 step children; 14 step grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Calling hours are Wednesday, March 11th from 4:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Patrick�s Cemetery, Amherst, in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
