Dana Allen Blake, son of Violet F. Bridge and Robert A. Blake, born in December 23, 1967 in Nashua, NH, passed away on August 6, 2022. He resided in Wilton, NH. A delightful, bright child, Dana and his younger brother, Wayne, formed a close bond. Growing up in Milford, they (and numerous friends) enjoyed various outdoor activities, including backyard baseball, football and sledding. Dana also liked hiking, camping, skiing, and debating who were the best baseball players of the early 1980s. A 1986 graduate of Milford Area Senior High School, Dana went to UNH, earning a bachelor’s degree in English. He then moved to California to pursue a career, where he worked in the field of Civil/Environmental Engineering for several years. In 1998, Dana moved back to New England. There, he gained employment in construction with PM McKay in Nashua and later Kokko Builders in Milford. At the same time, he also worked as a freelance writer for several local weekly newspapers. Dana savored time alone by doing carpentry, furniture refinishing, reading, camping, going on long walks. He also enjoyed writing short stories. Other pursuits were playing guitar in both the church choir and coffee shops. He was predeceased by his father, Robert A. Blake. Dana enriched our lives. A gentle soul, Dana will be sorely missed by his mother, brother Wayne, Stepfather Tedo, Uncle Brad, sister-in-law Hyla, nephew and nieces, cousins, his friends and kind neighbors in Wilton. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 9th at 1:00pm in the Second Congregational Church, 25 Gregg Street, Wilton, NH 03086. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. To share a memory or offer a condolence, please go to www.smith-heald.com
