Dale R. Hathaway

Dale R. Hathaway, 73, of Milford, adored husband, father and grandfather, went home to be with the Lord September 11, 2016, ending his courageous 20-year battle with cancer. Born June 16, 1943 in Fort Fairfield, ME to Leroy "Roy" and Marion (Pinette) Hathaway, Dale moved to the Milford area with his family as a young boy. He attended Milford schools, and served in the US Navy from 1960 to 1964. On February 17, 1968, Dale married Rose Davis and started a family, eventually settling into the home he helped his father and uncle build on Shepard Street. As a Master Carpenter, he crafted many beautiful homes in the Souhegan Valley and across New Hampshire. Dale was a member of The Bridge Community Church and President of the Milford Cribbage League. He is survived by his beloved bride of 48 years, Rose (Davis) Hathaway, his daughters, Dorothy (Hathaway) Saucier of Milford, NH, Lori Hathaway of Keene, NH and Shannon (Hathaway) Spear and her husband Todd of Greenfield, NH. Grandchildren are Jared Saucier of Manchester, NH, Aaron Spear and Nicole Spear of Greenfield, NH and Autumn MacShane and Molly MacShane of Keene, NH. Surviving siblings are Susie Bouchard of Presque Isle, ME, Evelyn Donnelly of Spring Valley, CA and Sheila Jeter of Rye, NH. He was a well-loved uncle to nieces and nephews near and far. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 2:00 pm at The Bridge Community Church, 65 West Street, Milford, NH. He firmly believed that everything was in God's hands.
