Cynthia B. Byrd, 80, resident of Milford, NH, died January 14, 2011 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Amherst, NH on May 16, 1930, a daughter of Robert and Arvilla (Fisk) Bryant. She was raised and educated in Amherst and made her home in Milford for more than 60 years. She graduated from Milford High School, Class of 1948 and regularly attended her class reunions. Mrs. Byrd had been employed by Hayward’s Trading Post in Milford for the past 18 years and formerly worked at Heidi’s Hallmark Store, Milford for 10 years. In addition, she was a founding member of the Milford Volunteer Ambulance Service. She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, Milford. Mrs. Byrd was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother and great grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard E. Byrd, who died in 1982. Family members include three sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Debbie Byrd of Milford, NH, Robert Byrd of Brookline, NH, James and Ann Byrd of Annandale, VA; a daughter, Rebecca Byrd Pirelli of Milford, NH; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Jane Locicero of Nashua, NH and Dorothy Coleman of Prescott, AZ; many nieces and nephews. There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 18th at 11:00 am in the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 20 Elm Street, Milford, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Joseph Home & Hospice Care, 24 North River Road, Milford, NH 03055 or St. Joseph’s Hospital, Infusion/Oncology Center, 172 Kinsley Street, Nashua, NH 03061.
