Clarence W. Blair, Jr., 94, resident of Milford, NH, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020. He was born in Boston, MA on June 29, 1926, a son of Clarence W. Blair, Sr. and Dorothy (Silva) Blair. He spent most of his life living in Burlington, MA and Stoneham, MA. Clarence proudly served our country in the Coast Guard on LST 791 during World War II and later with the Army National Guard. When he returned from the war he began working for New England Telephone and Telegraph where he would retire after 37 years. He was a dedicated Mason for 65 years who loved his brethren and his craft. In addition, Clarence was an active member of the Milford United Methodist Church. Clarence, or Sonny as his friends knew him, is survived by his wife Shirley I. (Crane) Blair to whom he was married to for 69 years. He was a dedicated father to four children, Shirley Blair of Stoneham, MA, Deborah Hare of Townsend, MA, Sheryl Galanis and her husband James of Townsend, MA, and Wesley Blair and his wife Janet of Groton, MA. He was a loving grandfather to Amy Champagne, Mike Champagne, Amanda Matcheson, Melissa Fitzgerald, Nicholas Rochon and Justin Rochon; and a step grandson Justin Romanello. He was also an amazing great grandfather to Maeve and Jonas Kaas-Champagne, Duncan and Elliott Matcheson and Edward Clarence Rochon; and step great granddaughter Alex Romanello. Clarence is also survived by his sister, Beverly Belshaw of Washington; many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Funeral services are private. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Development Office, Shriners Hospitals for Children-Boston, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA 02114.
