Claire T. Parsons, 92, resident of Cambridge, MA, died January 1, 2011 at Sancta Maria Nursing Facility, Cambridge, MA. She was born in Woburn, MA on November 27, 1918, a daughter of Benjamin and Edith D. (Bazanson) Tower. Mrs. Parsons resided in Milford, NH for several years and formerly made her home in Randolph Center, Vermont for many years and raised her family in Lincoln, MA. While living in Vermont, she was an active member of the Randolph Center Congregational Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. In addition, she was a member of the Quilter’s Club and past president of the Garden Club. Mrs. Parsons loved to travel and enjoyed playing bridge. She was predeceased by her husband, W. Chester Parsons; a daughter, Diane M. Swett; and a brother, Gordon C. Tower. Family members include her daughter, Joyce V. Caras of Arlington, MA; a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne R. and Elizabeth A. Parsons of Boxborough, MA; a son-in- law, Peter Swett of Sparta, Michigan; five grandchildren, Jennifer Caras, Benjamin Caras, Richard V. Parsons, Brittany M. Parsons, Danielle M. Olander and her husband, Raymond; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a close family friend, David Cohen. A visiting hour will be held on Saturday, January 8th from 1:00-2:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in Johnson Corner Cemetery, Lyndeborough, NH, in the spring. Donations in her memory may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 800 West Cummings Park, Suite 3400, Woburn, MA 01801.
