Claire K. Teichmann, 89, resident of Bedford, NH, died on March 15, 2015, at Carlyle Place in Bedford, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Norwich, CT, on November 16, 1925, a daughter of William and Clara (Zahn) Karkutt. She made her home in Bedford for the past several years and formerly lived in Center Tuftonboro, NH, for 20 years and New Hyde Park, NY, for 30 years. Mrs. Teichmann was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Laconia. She and her late husband, the Rev. Frederic J. Teichmann, who died in 2013, enjoyed visiting Lutheran camps throughout the country and beyond as representatives of Lutheran Outdoor Ministries in New England. Along with her husband she also volunteered as a greeter and host at Camp Calumet in Ossipee, NH. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family members include four sons and daughters-in-law, Peter W. and Diane Teichmann of Huntington, NY; Timothy J. and Christine Teichmann of Bedminster, NJ; Rev. Thomas E. and Lisa Teichmann of Amherst, NH; and Jeffrey J. and Lois Teichmann of East Windsor, NJ; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Jonathan and Caroline, Erik and Sarah, Matthew, Marc and Kerry, Brianne, Amy, Daniel, and Jeremy; three great grandchildren, Cameron, Elsa and Gavin; and several nieces and nephews. A visiting hour will be held on Saturday, March 21st from 1:00-2:00 pm at Messiah Lutheran Church, 303 Route 101, Amherst, NH. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm. Rev. Dave Dalzell, Pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Townhouse Cemetery, Center Tuftonboro, NH, in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2238 Parade Road, Laconia, NH, 03246 or Camp Calumet, P.O. Box 236, W. Ossipee, NH, 03890.
