Christine A. O’Reilly, 69, resident of Amherst, NH, died on June 12, 2017 at her home. She was born in New York City on June 30, 1947, a daughter of John and Anna (Judge) Gauquie. She was raised and educated in New York City and graduated from Preston High School in the Bronx. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree from Hunter College and her doctorate from UMASS. Christine was an educator all of her life. She was a registered nurse and professor and had taught at Rivier College, UNH, Saint Anselm College and at City University of New York. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother and grandmother whose greatest joy came from spending time with her family and attending the theater. Family members include her husband of 46 years, James E. O’Reilly of Amherst; a daughter and son-in-law, Claire and Gary Evinson of Merrimack, NH; a son, James O’Reilly, Jr. of Austin, TX; three grandchildren, Connor, Avery and Chelsea, all of Merrimack; and a brother, John J. Gauquie, Jr. of Costa Rica. There are no visiting hours. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 15th at 12:30 pm in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 190 Meetinghouse Road, Bedford, NH.
